It snowed again on the Collins Pine Trail. The trail was in perfect shape in early March for a winter walk. Trail Blazer Volunteers checked out new routes marked with white tree blazes and orange poles to reach observation point No. 10, a lovely wildlife viewing area.
COLLINS PINE TRAIL WORK OPENS on April 20 and 21, 2018
TRAILS OPENING DAY 2018 has been scheduled for April 20 and 21. "Trail Blazers" will fire up to begin Phase 2 of the trail enhancement on the Collins Pine Nature Trail. A special "Children's Day program is scheduled for April 20 at the Collins Pine Trail. April 21 is scheduled for everyone. Come see our Phase 1 progress and plans for Phase 2.
Children's Day on April 20 may include a Geo-Caching demonstration, new tree planting at a forestry plot, forestry presentations, a cross-cut sawing demonstration, and How to Cut a Trail training.
April 21 will offer tours of new and future trail alignments, a cross-cut sawing demonstration, and training on TRAIL BLAZING.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR TRAIL BLAZING Join our group of volunteers working on the Collins Pine Trail enhancement: hours are brief, on convenient days and best of all meet interesting people who are like minded on adding and improving trails in the Lake Almanor Basin.
