Next Meeting: 4/3/18
Committee Background: This committee is coordinated by the Almanor Recreation and Park District (ARPD) under Carlos Espana, Trails Coordinator (916) 416-7970; firstname.lastname@example.org). For over 4 years, Almanor Basin community members interested in the improvement of local trails and trailheads have been meeting at the ARPD office to identify potential related projects and possible funding sources. The members call themselves the Caribou Alliance for Trails (CATS). Members come from different areas within the Almanor Basin and have different experiences and professional backgrounds related to aspects of outdoor recreation.
We focus on concepts for trail improvement and creation, trailhead enhancement, trails cleanup and maintenance. Our immediate committee membership varies from 6 to 9 members, but we have commitments from more volunteers who can be rallied for our Trail events and programs. Most members of the ARPD Board, and its separate volunteers for Community Events and Programs, can be counted on for such Trail activities also. Our committee members have years of experience with hiking, mountain biking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and backpacking in the area.
